Comments (6)could you persuade your neighbour to also paint the pebble dash? There isn't an obvious divide with next door so painting may look a little odd. Again because of the type of door frame, I wouldn't paint the door in isolation. I'd move the satellite dish if you can and maybe plant something like a wisteria (or something that's suitable for light, soil) at the boundary point. Add a big potted plant to the right of the door. If budget allows maybe add a nice outdoor wall light. I would plant the gravelled area or add potted plants but make sure you choose plants that don't grow too high. Add a hanging basket in the summer. You could also try some decorative window film on the glass panels...See Moreneed help with garden project
Comments (9)It's a great plot size and a lovely sunny position. The mediterranean look is all about stonework, planters & Pots. Have a two tier patio. The bottom layer straight across with a circular fronted second, higher level back left. On the top layer you could have your lounging area and water feature in the background. Coming forward a nice dining area for the late evening sun. Improving the fences is a must, the trellis to the left offers no privacy. The fence at the back may be salvageable. Replacing both would be better. You can also paint the fences to add colour in a pale blue maybe or white. White especially will show up terracotta wall hung planters and pots, whilst giving the plants and flowers something to 'pop' from....See Moreplease help me decide what colour to pain these kitchen cupboards..
Comments (18)I would try some different neutrals such as Little Greene 'Slaked Lime Dark' or Farrow and Ball 'Light Grey17'. It a lovely bright space and the floor is very warm and quite strong so I would go for a warm stoney neutral that complements the floor and the range. If the paint is more obviously blue of green it will make the floor look even stronger. Little Greene does oil based so I would use that over water based. Hope this helps. https://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/show-all/slaked-lime-dark#...See MoreHelp to decide how to paint what
Comments (6)What a lovely room. However that picture rail is really low. I have a similar room in my 1930s house and the picture rail is higher but then mine doesn’t have the big ceiling. I’m thinking if you want to paint the walls then paint it all, up to the ceiling coving and leave the ceiling white (I love a white ceiling). Do you have favourite colours? I love blues and greens but you may not. How do you feel about a deeper colour like F&B Oval Room Blue, or a green like Pigeon or Green Smoke? Or a lovely pale yellow like Hay. So many choices! Below is my sitting room (pale green) and the next picture shows where someone has painted one colour right up to the ceiling....See MoreSusan Jamieson
