Need help painting MDF bedroom wardrobes
Comments (11)We've just had new sliding sash windows put in and our bedroom ones have arched tops. The fitter routed MDF to fit around the windows and then edged in wood. I have used Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat. Sanded down before starting and in-between coats. So far I have applied 2 coats applied with synthetic bristle brushes from Screwfix and the finish looks almost complete. I think i will apply 2 top coats of Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell. Both of these paints are water based so dry quickly and easy to clean the brushes afterwards. This is the first time I have painted MDF and so far I am really pleased. You must wear a mask when you sand the MDF and hoover the dust from all the surfaces before painting. Hope this helps and good luck on Monday. http://www.leylandtrade.com/products/product-detail/acrylic-primer-undercoat.aspx http://www.leylandtrade.com/products/product-detail/acrylic-eggshell.aspx...See MoreWhat colour should I do the three remaining walls of my bedroom?
Comments (18)Hi Kathryn I have a range of 200 colours that we can choose from and you can test without having to buy test pots. If you are near enough I could bring them over - I'm based in Cambridgeshire and travel throughout the county and adjoining counties. Let me know if you are in my patch and we can organise a visit....See MoreBedroom wardrobe dilemma- help design storage
Comments (7)Hi, not sure why the alcove near the bed can’t have ceiling height wardrobes? Are you worried that the wardrobe will hit the bed, is that the problem? Maybe sliding doors would be better? I had fitted wardrobes installed by Sharpes, and the salesman was really helpful in configurating how it should all fit, including an awkward stair box area. He really knew his stuff. Am very pleased with the wardrobes, all built bespoke by an amazing carpenter. We were very impressed! Hopefully you will get lots of advice on here, and maybe you should get some companies/carpenters in to measure and quote. Mine cost just over £3000 for 6 and a half doors, rails, shelving etc....See MoreBedroom wardrobe
Comments (3)They look fab. Just designing my own wardrobes at the moment. The only thing I'd have added to yours is some cornice along the front and side to join up with the existing one...See MoreNicola E
