Help with upholstering the wall in a bedroom

I want to upholster the wall in back of the bed in a master bedroom. The bed is between windows. Should I upholster around the windows or just stop at the windows and upholster in between them. Help!

I would stop at the windows and upholster in between them.

I have never seen upholstering around windows and think it might look odd.

I would suggest you upholster between the windows and look at putting in some place button so that you simulate tufting. Also be sure your fabric meets safety requirements for flammability.

Hi. How much light does the room get? This is a very brave/bold choice but emerald green or grass green looks stunning against black, just add more black and white accents with a little gold. If not (!) you might like setting plaster by farrow and ball but would add darker accents for art, mirror, lampshades etc to stop it looking too sweet. If you have the room/budget it might be nice to pick up the green in the duvet in a velvet chair

Hi again. So this is what I have done so far. Still seems that something is missing?!?? With 2 pictures either side and mirrored side tables it looks better. Mazur, I really like your idea and that was my original plan but then I realised that with my wall space it is hard to achieve as the wall is much bigger then the bed and there is a lot of empty wall after the bed. So I either need to frame the mirrors in together with headboard or have the mirrors as 2 separate pieces ( sort of like my pictures but bigger??? If I frame the whole thing in then what do I do with the rest of the wall? Any thoughts? Advise? Many thanks to all!

Just a thought, what about putting the bed against the wall of the walk in wardrobe and you can still have your headboard, no need to change or move a radiator and the wife's side of the bed would be next to the wardrobe entrance. It's all a bit cramped by the looks of things and while you'll have your ensuite and your walkin wardrobe you'll still be walking into a box room. Another thought I had to to lose the bedside cabinets and increase the appearance of space would be in to have the bed side lights on the partition wall and the storage built into the stud wall with pull out shelves for those breakfast in bed moments and cups of tea. Change the door to open onto your landing as well!!! Good luck

I like the slate blue of the corded tie back, but it might be a little dark for a north facing room, however, all could be corrected with nice lamps and shades with warm white bulbs. If blue is not to your taste ( personally love a good blue ), then go neutral with the same buff / stone colour in the curtain.

You don't upholster the wall. You upholster a separate detachable headboard. Upholstering walls is very 1970 Vegas Elvis.

I also have questions about upholstering a wall. I am using lattice on the sides for blind tacking (no visible staples to cover), but am not sure what to do about the top and bottom edges. My fabric is a large-scale pictorial print with one center seam joining two widths of fabric. How do I keep the fabric straight/level as I go across the wall?
