What do you get from IKEA?
Comments (41)IKEA is great for anyone starting out, furnishing a rental property or just not sure what they want. It may not be the best "last for ever" quality, but it does the job, looks reasonable and can be mixed with other pieces over time. It tends to be good quality for the money. Tastes change over time and while my parents invested as much as they could in the furniture they bought, as they wanted it to last a lifetime, I prefer to think I will be able to change and update easily in the future. I spent a fortune on some furniture a few years ago, that I would love to replace now. We didn´t have a nearby IKEA at the time unfortunately....See MoreHelp! Kitchen Order Nightmare :(
Comments (14)Thank you createperfect, that's a good idea. I'll be meeting my builder over the weekend to discuss options but I'm also going to the house tonight to have a look as they've laid out the cupboards as best they can. Hi Daisy, The wall units are 900 high so then they would need to be right up to the ceiling too to run in line with the tall units wouldn't they? I actually like units going right up to the ceiling anyway, I just worry how it will look with a thin plinth and whether all will line up. I don't think cutting down the tall units would work either as one of them is a swing out pantry so the internal wouldn't fit and that's the costly part. What do you think?...See MoreIkea sofa and sofa bed issue
Comments (1)May I suggest you email Ikea with these questions? Or call their customer service. I personally wouldn’t buy a sofa, sofa bed or bed without trying it out in store first. Read the reviews for the sofa-bed - are they mostly positive? None of my sofas are identical, but they are a similar colour. It still works....See MoreVoile curtains help! :-)
Comments (4)I would buy the fabric and make them. Is there rufflette on the back of them now? You could just sew a wide hem enough to put the pole through which you would be able to pull back and tack up the hem. Easily done and shouldn’t cost the earth. Look on eBay for the voile. Allow your drop x 2 curtains and add around 6” on each for top and bottom hems....See Moreelainemarmion
