Statement Light Inspiration

We are about to move into our new house and I'm struggling to find a light fitting (in budget!) for the hall.

The hall is fairly big and the light goes in front of the staircase which is perpendicular to the entrance (so the light has quite a few meters of drop available to it).

I've fallen in love with the Bocci lights (the glass globes), but they are way over budget. I've had a look at some similar designs in high Street stores but they just aren't as beautiful (which is understandable as they are a fraction of the price).

I need to stop thinking about the Bocci and move on, but I'm stumped.

I want a modern, drop light which will be a statement piece for the room.

I'll be redecorating anyway so the light doesn't need to match or fit with anything, I'll make the room work around it. The only idea I have for the room is to replace the stairs with oak and glass, but that's a low priority and not definite.

My budget is around £750 for the light. If anyone has any ideas for a light around that price I'd be very grateful!!

I feel in love with some very expensive wallpaper once £750 a roll... I still think about it now 3 years later. To be honest I would have hated to live with it longterm but was seduced at the time!

Here are a few lights that may work for you. I think I have a idea of what appeals but if I'm way off the mark let me know and I'll look for something else for your consideration.

The second is a fantastic option but this will be a longer wait it's due back into stock in July, will that still be in time for your project? Copper is very on trend and it add a touch of colour. I love, love, love this. What do you think?

Help making a fireplace a statement!

Lovely fireplace - but I think that the reason it seems out of kilter is the difference in size between the fire and the chimney. How about making the chimney breast the same width as the fireplace by simple boarding, and then make a feature out of this beautiful fire by painting the whole of the fire and the chimney in a bold colour. If you have another colour in the room to pick up this colour, use that - otherwise try plum colour, and co-ordinate with same colour cushions to add to your blue chair/settee. I also think there are too many small bits and bobs on the hearth and the shelf. Clear most of these and use one large, tall statement piece one side on the hearth - say a very tall silver vase or tall silver ornament. At the moment all the things you have are the same colour, and I feel that it needs more texture and height, but keep it simple. Hope this is of help.

Hello @Anna Dourado I did not see your furniture yet but I'd suggest you a bespoke lighting fixture above the dining table as the picture attached, metal structure chrome or dark gold brushed and light amber glasses or clear glasses, or only 3 pendants (metal + glass bubbles). Or a Classic Ceiling Lamp alway contemporary. About lighting for the bathroom I would like to see some pictures if possible of course. Regards Alberto www.turinadesign.com
