Our living/dining room!
Comments (5)Hi Becky, You have a beautiful space and I love those grey floor tiles. Your room has quite a contemporary feel to it, so if you are unsure about the style, I would suggest you keep it quite modern to enhance the space. A light grey corner sofa will work great to separate the living space, and will be airy enough to make the most out of the light in the room. Below is a suggestion from John Lewis, I recommend you have a look at the dimensions and also the fabrics to make sure it fits your space and your budget: http://bit.ly/2cjSN89 I’d also suggest you try to introduce oak details through the coffee and dining tables. My favourite option is the below one from John Lewis, which goes really well with the dining table I’ve included: http://bit.ly/2cZmQ7J http://bit.ly/2cZmfTK Complement it with white dining chairs like these ones from Made.com. You could also mix & match them with their blue option to introduce some hints of colour. http://bit.ly/2ddTj9Q For your sideboard I chose a piece to combine everything together and keep the look seamless. Complete the room by adding a statement mirror on top of your sideboard. http://bit.ly/2ddTSAp http://bit.ly/2cEJYJd I hope these ideas and suggestions give you a good starting point, and good luck with your project. Comments (2)Are you keeping the coving? Do you intend to make he house more 60's or old-fashioned? If you're going for the older look, crystal knobs could look cool but would probably need to go lower on the door ( from what I can tell). If you're after making the house more modern, then I'd lose the coving and ceiling rose and add a modern door handle....See MoreRenovating tips on a budget for this 1930's kitchen dining room?
Comments (3)You’re trying to fit quite a lot in to what looks like a relatively compact space.. Perhaps prioritise the kitchen/diner for this room - don’t forget there will still be a living room at the front of the house. I would suggest leaving the kitchen where it is (this will help with budget) but still take out the wall as you’d like. Maybe closing off the exit door from the kitchen so that you can run units the whole way down that sink wall and have the island where the cooker is shown at the moment. Perhaps install connecting doors between the front living room and the kitchen/diner so you get the flexibility of opening or closing that room as needs be....See MoreKitchen/dining/living room renovation
Comments (8)Where are any of the tall units such as fridge, oven etc going? If the sink is at the end presumably you’ll be doing any prep work there plus obviously emptying the DW etc. The breakfast bar is a very long distance from there so was wondering if you’d get the sociable area you’re after? It may be worth speaking to a concept planner. A lot of people use OnePlan on here, Karen works remotely, you just give the measurements and wish list and she can plan the whole space rather than just the kitchen as a kitchen designer would. I think seeing it in 3D would help with your decision too...See Morelottiefenwick
