I'm in my 10th and I'm only 37 years old!

Since I bought my first one myself in 2009 I've owned 4. In fact I've bought and lived in 2 in the last year, my current one I moved into 3 weeks ago, and before that I bought, lived in and sold in 5 months, I just didn't like the house.

I've lived in lots of houses but my all time favourite is the one my husband and I have just designed and built. It's gorgeous. We go around pinching ourselves because it's hard to believe that we could afford or manage to build such a lovely space.

We have some bonkers stuff around - cameraless photos of mushrooms by the very talented Susan Derges. Jason Martin's painting on aluminium. The spectators triptych - I've always refused to sleep in that guest bedroom because of the creepy feeling that they would be staring at me all night. Some scary Kabuki prints (they really scare me!! I told him we are divorcing if those prints leave his office): And many more (iSAW, you are to blame for encouraging me to post photos... I just love posting photos...) :))

Hello Teenytinyhouse, I have to say that I don't watch tv and have not had one for 10 years! I hate them dominating the living room which is not the focus in my eyes! I do love the idea of a roll down canvas for a projector but don't have one as yet but when I do it will be fixed to the ceiling in front of the fireplace roughly... Have to say I like the way you refer to it (TV) as idiot box.. I do miss certain aspects.. Namely.... David Attenborough on anything, Panorama, Scientific programs et al and Columbo! I may have a dvd or two(enty! : ) )

We live in a rural area with a reasonable bus service [ for now!]. I have a 12 year old 4 seater convertible, and we got rid of hubby's ancient car last year [so he uses buses to work] and bought an ambulance instead, which we converted into a motor home/physio clinic for when i work in Greece Spring and Autumn. That hasn't moved since we got back last November, and now needs new battery and starter motor... But we aren't going back to greece until next spring due to staffing changes at work, so...

sianember - Love the mirrors! They bring back happy memories. I have a business 'upcycling' furniture - although I've been doing it for over 20 years now and recycling was hardly a thing, let alone upcycling, in those days :D - but I started out selling mirrors on Greenwich market. A friend and I would find old mirrors in junk shops (this was in the halcyon days when every high street had at least one, sadly they are few and far between now) and we would 'pimp' them and sell them. We were particularly fond of using shells as they were free, meant we got to spend a day at the seaside and we could use the children to collect them!

I have lived in 5 in total, as the owners we have bought 3 plus a holiday home in Italy. My favourite is our home in Italy. Set in a field, with sounds of neighbours off in the distance and great views too. We had a full renovation job carried out in 2008 and we simply love the results. Just wish we could live there full time.

I have lived in 16 and am 45. Not by choice as many with my family as we moved a lot with my dads job. The hardest house to leave was the one my husband and I built and reared our four daughters in and spent many happy days. A change if job for him meant a change of location. As a good friend said though, your home is not the walls, its the memories you make in them and those I will always cherish. Now we are making new memories in a home we have adapted and extended to fit our family and hope we'll be here for a while.

I've lived in 2 with my parents, 5 while a student and then 3 with my partner including the current one we live in which we own.
Overall though the ones that stand out are the house I grew up in, the flat my fiance and I first lived in together and the one we bought together.
I get really attached to places, so it's hard to leave but it's also part of life and exciting!

I can't believe any one can reach adulthood without having moved! I'm 36 and am about to start prepping for move 16. This is the first place my partner and I have owned, it is a flat and we will be buying a terraced house. The plan is to do that up, sell it, do up a semi detached, sell that and then self-build a detached house which will be the last, I hope...

Two, before that a tiny flat and before that bedsits and before that my parents' house and before that a room where the whole family lived. Favourite was in fact that first home though we had so little space in it. But this is best. Location, a green and watery view and big red buses.

I've lived in 2 with my parents, 5 as a student and 3 with my current partner.

The one I live in now is the one I like most, because it is the first one I curated myself.

16 - not including living in hotels in transition. As a child we moved at least every three years, 3 in the UK, 1 in Germany, 1 in Maseru ,3 times in South. Africa. With my first husband we rented twice, owned twice (got divorced). I then rented twice, and bought my first house on my own which I lived in for 9 years, a record. My husband and I have now lived in our current home for 7 years and have no intentions of moving and have a 5 year plan to pay off the mortgage. My nicest house was the last one I lived in in South Africa. It was on half an acre, swimming pool etc. But my favourite is my current house, cause this is my HOME

15 - 2 growing up, 4 whilst at college, 5 in first few years for career, 4 playing property ladder game. The one I'm in now though is hopefully 'the one'.

I have lived in several houses - one in particular in New Zealand set the standard for how I'd want to live if I moved there permanently - but houses that my family owned, only 3. My favourite was our typical chocolate box cottage. We downsized from a massive house with 29 acres to (what felt like in comparison) a teeny tiny cottage with just 3 acres but absolutely stunning. The cottage itself was quirky. Everything was wonky, the doors didn't quite fit in the frames and redecorating was a nightmare because where the wall met the ceiling it was never straight. My bedroom had several beams which on closer inspection turned out to be recycled gate posts and most still had the metal components trapped into them. Gosh I miss that home.

12 houses some rented. Nothing I would call home as yet but fond memories. We have also moved counties and countries and I feel the urge coming over me again.

15 however I've only owned 2. I rented 4 flats before buying with my now husband. Our current house was meant to be our forever home and whilst we absolutely love the interior and layout there are issues with parking and we would love a big garden with privacy. We said recently we'd look in the future but it would be nigh on impossible to match the space we've got and the architectural features :( We've also put our heart and soul into this house and couldn't afford to do that again! Although saying that I'm now going around correcting what I did before I became so obsessed with interiors and houzz!

14 houses. Started in Liverpool then Cheshire. Married, divorced then married again in Wales. Emigrated to South Africa due to economy downturn and had 3 houses. Returned and living in Manchester. Favourite house? Got to be one in SA with a lovely pool I designed myself with a great garden and our son grew up there.

15 and this will not be the last! The majority of these moves were due to my husband's job and were chosen by the cachement area for a good school for our 2 daughters. The quickest was 15 months from buying and moving out with most of the packing cases still in the garage unopened! When my husband retired we moved by choice to the south coast and in our haste we bought a lovely house but which had parking issues and as it was on a private estate a resident management company in charge of the communal areas. Never easy getting 20 householders to agree so we sold and moved less than a mile with our own driveway and garden. All I would advise anyone moving is to trust your gut instinct and if something niggles you on first visit it will become a major irritation later.

I just made my first ever move from my parents home (old farmhouse) into a new house that my partner and I designed and built, to be our 'forever' home. I love both houses and I love the fact that my first move will be my last :)

I'm in my mid-thirties and on house 25! My partner is a few years older, and on his third. Everyone's experience is different!

For me, it has to be my current house. It's smaller than every one of my previous homes, was a total wreck when I bought it, has no parking, drained my life savings, had mice, still has a to do list as long as your arm, and has been a massive pain in the b*tt.

HOWEVER: it is the house my partner and I have been doing up together, and through which we bonded and got to know each other's strengths and weaknesses. It is the house where I learned to trust my own taste and honed my bargain hunting skills. It is the first place I lived in all by myself, and bought on my own, and it is where I finally learnt to be myself, be confident in myself and not worry about what other people think.

It might not be perfect, it might be teenytiny, but House No.25 is my first real Home.

I am 47 and I have lived in 12. I am in my favourite now and no-one is getting me out. It is a large 2 bed basement flat that was 2 flats knocked into 1. It has a terrace garden running the width of the flat and looks out over the town and on to one of the 7 hills around Torquay. It is haunted by very friendly ghosts and it is a little damp so I have a dehumidifier but it is my home. My cats and I are very happy.
