We are about to complete on a 1930's terraced house property that needs to be fully renovated. This is no surprise to us as we saw the possible potential in doing up the property. We have spoken to a few builders and got some quotes for the possible works to be done. The problem is, i keep thinking i don't want to forget anything to put in the rooms. For example we visited a kitchen designer yesterday and got truly overwhelmed with the options which i must say wasn't the problem. When we got home I had a light bulb moment and thought but where is the boiler going to go which wasn't in my thinking when doing the kitchen design. This also includes other things things e.g. radiators, plug points, light switches etc. Now i apologies if these seem like simple things but i'm just worried that we might forget to put something in the room that we had not thought about at the time.
I'm guessing this is where a architect or home designer comes in? Obviously with the expertise of those professions comes with a cost and i'm concerned we wouldn't be able to afford an architect or designer on top of our building budget.
Or is there a checklist out there that will assist in these decisions?
