New living area with existing furniture

Evening,
We're just about to do an extension to add a new living area. At the moment we have some relatively new cream and dark brown leather sofas which we're not minded to replace.
My question is how can we integrate the existing leather sofas into a new living area design? For some guidance we're keen on a light, Scandinavian feel to the extension. I particularly liked this picture - [https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/false-creek-condo-scandinavian-living-room-vancouver-phvw-vp~11284069(https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/false-creek-condo-scandinavian-living-room-vancouver-phvw-vp~11284069).
Would be glad of creative suggestions/pointers on how we can achieve this or ideas on another style we perhaps should be looking at?
Many thanks.
