need help with wall mirror and sconces placement

hello,
i would like to seek help with respect to placing a wall mirror in my formal living room. the width of the wall is 15'9". and the sofa above which i will install the mirror is 6'6" wide. please advise me what should be the measurements of my wall mirror and how far away should the two wall sconces be on each side of the mirror?
my ceiling is about 10 feet high.

Nicky here from Man About The House - ( Hugh's long suffering wife ). I have OCD especially when it comes to sizes and placements, so for some it might not matter, but i like symmetry in bucket loads. If I were purchasing a mirror i'd go 5' to 5'6 leaving 6-9 inches either side of the mirror to the end of the couch. ( i prefer the 5' ). Then you can double or triple the distance from the mirror to the wall sconce. ( So i'd have a 5ft mirror leaving 9 inches to the end of the sofa, then 18 inches from the sofa to each sconce ). I think when you place them on the wall, you'll know what looks right for you, afterall, everyone's different.

i myself am inclined towards the 5'6" and then leave a distance of about 18-24 inches between the mirror and the sconce.

also, could you plz advice how long should be the console table for the entrance which has a wall of about 10 feet. and how wide (vertical mirror) should be the mirror? and the distance of sconce from the mirror?

The ŵall looks great, I prefer it to your original choice! The chest of drawers look great pushed together. I wouldn't try going for a symmetrical layout. Hang the mirror where it is portrait with a lamp that's in between the sizes of the 2 shown (maybe a charcoal shade?) with a shorter vase of flowers etc on the rhs and some kind of decorative object in the middle ( a decorative horse's head might look good?!)

Think i'd be tempted to have the mirror just on the sink side, you will see the whole bathroom when you walk in, reflected in it. Mirror above a bath unless seperated by some tiling will be an absolute pain to keep smear free, and it may be a little overkill. Plus, maybe bathing and looking in the mirror at the same time, not to relaxing??
