Driveway / Front garden

I have a fairly wide front garden which currently has a single driveway. I would like somewhere to park our second car and we are considering doing away with the grass and front wall to utilise the dropped curb which is already there (pls see photos which I took from our house). I'm reluctant to pull up the existing block paving as it's still in good nick and I like the colour provided by the shrubs, so would like to keep those. Can anyone suggest an infill or paving for the grass area? Preferably not loose gravel as I have two young boys who love throwing stones! Thanks in advance.

Extend the pathway to a drive way
You could have more than 2 cars. An entrance to drive in exit to drive out

I think i'd try and keep as much of the original idea as possible so that the new blends with the old and you don't disrupt the established garden, which is an asset. With that in mind, i'd opt for a mirror image portion and get the paving to match what you already have.

Hello. Do you have a good idea of how the house looked originally? Do any others in your road still have original features? As an architecture bore, I think your house is a lovely period piece, albeit with newer windows (I'm all for good insulating windows but I've never quite got over old buildings with modern windows!), so I'd look to its original features for inspiration. You can then decide what's going to be necessary for you to live there in the 21st century and get the best of both worlds. From your photo I love the red flowers. Together with the red brick and pale housepaint to me it presents a cheerful aspect to the world. Lauren's mock up is great - painting the tiles red really brings everything together.

I recently had an old deck removed in my back garden and replaced it with paving. The area was quite small , 11 square metres. It took 8 days in total to complete and the cost was £2520. Materials were £920 and Labour was £1600 for one builder and one labourer.

Thanks all for the advice. That's good to know they are not overpriced etc. We are considering not having double gates now due to the cost - (we only wanted them to put our cmaper through but as we want to sell soon, it seems little point spending the extra money on it!) and going for a fixed fence with larger pedestrian door. Going to see how the price differs there. The gates are set far back on the drive as more privacy gates to the back garden and not actual driveway gates and they are currently 7' high 😁
