Beautiful sheer drapery

The sheers you used on this window look amazing! What type of pleat did you use on them at the top? Are they on rings? Also what mechanism did you use to have them open and close? Thank you!

Apologies for the delay. The sheers are from Silent Gliss and use their Wave track and pleat. The curtains are on a cord mechanism and the blinds on chains. Regards Pippa Paton Design

Yeah Ooh, that is gorgeous fabric! Are you thinking of using that for the curtains? If yes you'll want to use that where the curtains are drawn to show it to its full glory. Wow, that's beautiful! And Carolins is right about the fretwork against an aubergine accent wall, in the right cream that would be stunning.

I think that people mostly wallpaper all their walls, or, just one feature wall (usually the one you face when sitting) I was looking at the thread of emails and Moniker sent 2 pictures right at the beginning that I think look fab. A few subtle changes in your room that would make a big difference are getting bigger bedside lamps and getting a large statement piece of art or perhaps even a large mirror instead (which would make the space look lighter and brighter too) I'm not sure what your budget is but changing the carpet to a neutral cream or taupe would also help tie the room together. I'd personally dress the window with a simple Roman blind or roller blind a bit bigger than the window as having curtains behind the bed may be a tad difficult to manage? However, if you are in love with the idea of wallpaper, you could always paper three walls first, and based on how you think it looks, either leave it at that or continue with the forth wall.

We get asked this question a lot, and that is why we sell integrated or integral blinds which are totally enclosed within the glass cavity of the double glazed unit, and are available for most of the doors and windows we sell. They can be manually or electrically operated, are available in a range of colours, and have Venetian or pleated versions. They can be closed for complete privacy, opened to any angle for different shading or raised up almost completely out of the way. Aside from enclosing all the working parts (safe for toddlers), they enhance the thermal efficiency of the unit they are enclosed within and will never need cleaning! You can upgrade existing doors and windows, although if you are purchasing new, ask your supplier about Uni-blinds Integral Blinds beforehand.

Minnie, you have impeccable taste, everyone on Houzz agrees so don’t even try to dispute it! :)) Ikat is another great option, I’ll add it to my list. I’d visited a couple of curtain makers and had one come around to measure... While I am now more clear about either to have curtains or blinds in whichever room, choosing fabrics is still a struggle... I came home with some 12 samples books and only managed to confuse myself even further. Andrew is good at telling me what he doesn’t like/want, but when I ask for a decision between 2 options, he just says ‘whatever you want’ even when I had just finished telling him I can’t choose... Sorry, rant over; I think I am becoming less adventurous than I used to be and it frustrates me...
