Scandinavian Style chest of Drawers
Hello :-)
I have this nice chest of drawers that my landlady kindly gave to me, well I like it, it is kind of back in fashion now, (she furnished my rental place a long time ago) not sure how long she had it but it has a label inside called Stag Furniture, my uncle said the top is not original, you can see in the photo it is not wood on the top..
How can I best decorate it, should I repaint the drawers (was thinking white) and then sand the sides and varnish it, or is it possible to paint it another colour? I was thinking a nice light blue.. As the brown doesn't go in my flat, I have grey flooring..

Comments (24)Is there any space on the opposite wall for the chest? The thing is that you have to have a balanced space. By leaving the mirror where it is and putting the chest to the left will not make a balanced look, IMO. You will have the blank area under the mirror and then empty space on the right side so it will look "off." The mirror on the one wall looks fine which is why I wonder about the other side of the room. I think I would be looking for a contemporary four poster bed, choosing velvet and metallics for a lux feel but then teaming it with contemporary white textured furniture. (Images from the Next catalogue) For the same reason I also think that Chinese style white furniture also works. This is the chest of drawers. It has not been finished, so this is the original colouring for this model except the drawer fronts are a bit darker as they have had the Hard Wax Oil treatment. The sides and top have been sanded (and filled, that's the white patches) but not painted yet. The edges of the front were origanally black.
I actually prefer these drawers without the legs so I'm keeping them separately.
