Are they brick tiles? I'm really struggling with how to create an "exposed brick wall" in my kitchen.

From what i'm reading, I think you have only two choices on actual brick walls. The one with the cooker is an outside wall isn't it?? .....and then the one with the clock. Totally depends on how much work you want to make for yourself. If you just want to 'dip a toe', then go for the one with the clock. If you want to go all out then do the one with the cooker and hob. However..........and we have done a few of these now........that is Victorian houses...........Lyme plaster is a pain to work with!. Once you touch one bit 10 minutes later you've got a patch 3'x3', then you get bits that feel like they're welded on! Also, we have found on many of the houses that we have done full renovations on, the Victorians were fond of an 'anything goes' brick size approach! So be prepared to unearth allsorts and more importantly, be prepared to have to re-point most , if not all of the brickwork with Lyme mortar and then seal it! It isn't for the feint hearted. Here's an old Chimney breast that we did a few years ago in an Attic Bedroom. ( Before and After ) and finally ones on a Chimney breast from a different house. That's me in the photo !!! Have fun

being a big fan of all things rustic , I would say not only leave brick but go 1 step more and make that brick wall as bold as it can be. bring back it's original brown appeal or even paint it that rustic bold brown that any brick decor deserves. that said, some pics wouldve helped a lot here because sometimes going old isn't always the best option hah

Thank you :) still a WIP! Truth be told I got someone that knows how to tile to do it. It didn’t look too difficult when watching YouTube videos however. You’ll need a way to cut the bricks to the right size. Pointing the bricks (adding the mortar between the slips) was quite difficult for our tiler as he hadn’t done it before, which resulted in a lot of the bricks getting stained a sandier colour - they were originally more pink. Overall we’re still happy with how the wall turned out - looks very natural and much better than fake panels or wallpaper

Thanks everyone, some good suggestions. Everything in this house is a bit DIY so not sure how good the foundations will be. I think best best is to remove and replace with fencing, but yes dreading the cost of removing all the rubble! Eek. I do love the look of the classic red brick wall but imagine that whole project will be expensive. I do like the idea of putting a fence on top of the wall but I don't love the colour of the existing wall, everything looks really tired and I just think painting it will be constant upkeep. Would the foundations have to be removed to put fence panels up?
