What wall colours would go with a red leather sofa and oak furniture?

I'm having a room redone and i am wondering what colours would best go on the wall as part of a contemporary design. Also the current carpet is cream/beige and i am considering replacing, what would go best with the suggested wall colours?

Make the blinds disappear by painting the window wall the same red. Otherwise they will look a bit 'bitty'. You can also pick up the red with assessories and introduce other colours also with artwork. I think lots of cream or natural linen. IKEA do a lovely striped sofa which has a thin red stripes which would give it a French country feel. Sorry I don't like the brown leather sofa and after reading how leather is mass produced I am now having problems with any leather sofas :(

I think tan leather would look good with the mango furniture. I'm not sure that mid century would complement your furniture, Chesterfields are fashionable and fine for modern homes so you could go down that route. Although I think something like this would look great: http://www.made.com/canape-3-seater-sofa-saddle-tan-premium-leather. Decor wise with tan leather cooler colours work best - blues, greens and greys. I love olive green with it - you could bring in as an accent wall if light is an issue and copper accessories would look great with the olive - Next has lots of lovely copper stuff in at the moment.

Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))

Hi Adina, Looks great so far. You're right - it needs a couple of extra pieces, but it's nearly there. It's going to be a lovely room to relax in! I think some more geometric, angular styles would work well for the coffee table. And you could mix it up with some softer, curved details - like the Bica coffee table from WEWOOD, which has an inbuilt tray that can be removed and used to bring coffees over to the seating area. I'd also recommend adding some plants to your room - the contrast between man made and organic structures is beautiful.
