Electric fire feature for large lounge

I am looking for an electric fire feature to be inset in a wall below a TVs.
Must be extremely realistic

Hi, putting an electric fire below a TV is a very popular option now and more manufacturers bringing out new models for this purpose. The realism of electric fires can be subjective and whilst the flame effect has come on enormously over recent years although there are limits on what they can achieve.

We would suggest looking at a fire that is either wider or narrower than the TV. If you get something that is the same it never seems to look right.

Popular fires for this are the Studio Inset electric fires from Gazco as shown in the picture. These require a stud wall building to accommodate the appliance depth but that will also allow you to create a custom recess for the TV (looks far better) and make it easy to hide all cabling.

Gazco have also recently introduced their 'Radiance' range of electric fires that are offered in various sizes in both inset and wall-hung variants. We are in the process of creating a new dedicated electric fire room in our fireplace showroom in Manchester where will will prominently feature the Radiance range:

With these models you can change the flame colour from amber to blue making it usable even during the warmer months.

You can enjoy the flames on their own and when needed, both these models incorporate a convected fan heater that will quickly give the room a boost of heat.

The room is not as dark as it looks in the pictures but it is difficult to get photos as they are largely taken against the light from the large bay window.

Thanks for that, Jonathan. Fancy you recognising my street! Small world!! I did see one of electric fires last week and agree they look very good, so I’ll have a proper look at those. Pricier than the ethanol but maybe worth it. I do like the side by side look. Just wasn’t sure how to create the shelf part or where to get them from. I prefer a stone or cement type look rather than bright modern white as I want a mid century feel.
