balusters are they custom?

I'm assuming this balusters are custom...are they metal or wood and love how there aren't any newel posts...what did you do at the bottom for a newel or is there not one there either?

Hi, it’s a bit of a secret actually! And by that I mean that
the metal workers wouldn’t give us the exact detail of the chemical they
used. The spindles and the handrail is indeed bespoke.

What we do know is that we asked for the spindles to be produced in mild
steel, with an antique bronze finish. I believe the steel is copper
plated and the secret ‘antiquing’ agent is applied to that. The fixing
details top and bottom are all bespoke.

There is a timber newel post on the lower ground floor and an
enlarge metal newel post on the ground and first floor.

The handrail is continuous. Please see another picture of the staircase below

yes! we love that handrail! Thank you for all this great info! You don't by chance have a photo of the timber and/or metal newel do you? Thank you!!

or at least who fabricated them?

Our builder's metalworker lovingly produced these. The timber handle wraps around the whole of the stair, and in principle the newel posts in the middle landings were not required. The builder we worked on this with is Gallery Interiors (http://www.galleryinfo.co.uk/).

Our apologies for the bad quality image of the timber newel post.
