dusted moss 2

hello all, we will be moving onto our first home very soon. we have decided (out of the many million shades) to go for dusted moss 2 with possibly absolute white all fron the dulux brand throughout the house. I would love opinions on schemes or any thoughts or even better anyone with this colour who could share pictures??
I've Googled it and the same picture comes up. I would appreciate any thoughts or pictures

With such a mellow colour I'd be inclined to create an "earthy" feel to the room, use natural-looking colours in your furniture and carpets to create an inviting atmosphere that reminds you of the great outdoors.

Perhaps start with some brown sofas, a wooden coffee table (pale oak maybe?) and some red (autumn shade red) cushions and accessories.

I have the same colour in my bathroom and a wall in the kitchen. it is a lovely colour but it looks different depending on the light. it looks more grey in the bathroom (less natural light) and slightly more green moss colour in the kitchen more light.

Hi, I bought Valspar for the first time last year as they had the exact colour we wanted. It is a bright red/purple colour and even with 2 coats of generous paint, the wall is still patchy in places. It also took a while to dry so can be a pain when having to do multiple coats. Worth noting that the sales person said we should have bought a base coat first so that colour application is better but by the time you have spent the extra, you might as well go for the better quality paint! Dulux is excellent - can't fault the paint so would recommend waiting for the machine to be fixed! Tania

Hi I've tried Dulux chic shadow, steel parade,and misty mirror. Farrow and ball purbeck stone. Valspar quite interlude. Johnstones misty grey, and cumulus. And home base home colour silver mist. I've seen pictures of rooms painted in farrow and ball paint 228 conforth white which looks like the colour I'm looking for, but the store which stocks it hasn't had a tester pot in stock for the last two weeks and as it is £39.99 a tin I would like to try it first. This colour maybe what you are looking for.

Hi Nicky, my apologies I have only just seen your message. We went for cornforth white Farrow and Ball (which it definitely not white). The shutters are not back open yet but some of them will need to go back on because the large expanses of grey look very grey. The bits next to the white look less austere. The new white garage door with windows has made a big difference. I'd be careful with a very pale grey because if your windows are anything like mine you'll find that they are not actually that white after all....

Hi Andrea Brooks We can totally understand your dilemma - ‘Magnolia’ is certainly not for everyone! Different colours can evoke different moods and feelings, so don’t limit yourself to one colour throughout your whole house. We have used that and dusted moss 3, which has a slightly more green than grey tinge to it in two of our refurbishments. The 3 is still quite grey but with a little warmth to it on the green side. We coupled it with caramel stripe carpet on stairs and landings which contains green and grey plus the caramel. Then put a medium oak matt varnish on the skirtings, stairs, architraves etc in one of the houses, and, dark woodwork in the other using Fiddes hard wax oil.
