Hi Shivani - this house is not in SW3 - it's in Surrey. We designed and made the circular light specifically for this project.

God..you city folk! Reading these comments makes me wonder now.. What about looking at the wider picture and outside the '2 square mileage box' for a change? I am a self confessed (converted) country bumpkin and though I am familiar with city life and the unavoidable commuting with lack of space that goes with that (having lived in central Madrid-Paris-Hong Kong) I was also lucky enough to have had the 'country mansion with lots of space experience' and with that in mind it there for would have to be...location! If the location is wrong then it is so much harder to change that or even sometimes live with, where as space is a luxury one can simply afford to have (create) or not, but certainly is something I could live with or be without!

@Tani H-S Most professionals that refurbish uPVC windows will spray. You need the right equipment, you must prepare the surfaces properly before applying and most importantly you need the right paint (that properly bonds to the surface, has UV protection and thermal movement elasticity). In my experience making these kinds of decisions is best nearer the time - in other words, paint the room put your bed where you really want it and then see if your art work works. If it doesn't be ruthless - this room is different and may need a different treatment. Maybe in the space above the bed it would be better to have three smaller framed pieces for example. I know it's hard to give up on something when you really like it - but as previously commented - if it does not work in the bedroom could it go somewhere else? - hallway, downstairs toilet, dining room? Best of luck - its a lovely large room.

I like the house plan as it is. However, when we looked at our house plans, we realised that our stairs was the biggest issue. As the previous owners extended the house, it became a long wide house with long corridors. Our plan is to move the stairs into the middle of house and suddenly all the issues disappeared! So putting that theory into your house...how about: Moving the study where the staircase is. Putting the staircase along the front of the house where the current study is. Double doors into the dining room/ snug. Doors at an angle to the sitting room and large open plan kitchen. Upstairs, the staircase will come up through bedroom 5 to the centre of the upstairs. The master bedroom is the room with the bay window and making use of the original plumbing the staircase area and this area can be divided into a main bathroom and en suite or convert it all to en suite to the bedroom with the bay window. The new upstairs extension can be divided into 2 rooms or the current en suite can be made into a family bathroom. More expensive to change the staircase but it would centralised everything.... I’ll draw a photo!
