What is the type of flooring used pleas? We want to put underfloor heating in.

The flooring is solid oak which is not normally compatible with underfloor heating (this space is heated by radiators). You can alternatively used engineered timber flooring with an oak veneer which would be compatible with underfloor heating and would look similar.

Is the glazing here treated to control heat & glare especially in the summer months?

Here's a picture I found, there is a ton more but this may help to kick start other opinions.. I think floorboards would look great..not sure of price it will depend on whether you want solid or semi solid wood..if would probably be best to go to your local shops and get a quote..good luck!

I think the silver is more practical in that it's neutral so you can change accessories to whatever colour you want and less dominating but the Heather is a warmer colour. You could always go silver for the sofa (with some Heather for the cushions) and Heather for the accent chairs? If you want a cosy feel add cushions, table and floor lamps and I'd go for wood for the furniture. I'm not sure on the size of the room but a rug will also help, if the room isn't huge just go for a light grey textured rug.

I don't believe it is, but this is because the glazed elevations face north and west and is therefore not subject to excessive solar gain. If the glazing had been south facing this would have been a consideration.

We’ve submitted plans for a single storey extension on the back of our SW facing bungalow in Kent. We wanted a roof lantern that filled the whole of the roof plus sliding doors. After reading the numerous stories and comments on Houzz, I’m concerned that we’ve made a bad decision due to glare and temperature issues. The extension is to be used as an open plan kitchen, diner with a snug. What are your thoughts about this please? Thank you
