Economical way of creating Crittal-style doors
Comments (39)Hi Alan, we used the same doors from for our little study. After the decorator had painted them & we removed the protective film from the glass we saw that the paint had bled into the inner frame. Unfortunately there is no way to remove the glass to paint the inner frame so that section will always remain untreated & ours looks worse because of the paint bleeding. Such a shame because from afar the doors look great....just don’t inspect them too closely! When we queried it with the decorator he said the film was there to protect painting errors whereas the big shed said it was there solely to protect the glass & that the decorator had used too much paint on the brush. Argh.......See Morecrittall style window layout
Comments (44)Jonathan originally said taller crittall would look better than the shorter ones even if we had less of them Posted a pic again of the whole room layout for you @Emily. It will have a dark blue black shaker kitchen with suspended chimney extractor on cables and wood effect floor. I’ve seen industrial style kitchens with both crittall and wider bifolds and they both look nice. I would go with bifolds for the cost now because we have a max budget to spent on the house to ever get our money back (it’s not that we can’t afford to do what we want as such but you don’t want to throw money away!) even though I love the Crittall BUT it’s the practical side that we can’t agree on now...See MoreCrittall Style Internal Door Supplier
Comments (5)No. It's something that I have put on hold while finishing everything else. There are a couple of people on eBay advertising this sort of thing but I really don't feel comfortable dealing with a company that is not even willing to publish its address, let alone other contact details....See MoreCrittall style doors
Comments (9)Rather than having a door and glass panel made to the exact size it would be more cost effective to put in a standard sized door in a new stud wall. There are lots of wood doors that are glazed and have the look of a virtual steel door but at a lower price point: https://www.doorsuperstore.co.uk/product/jb-kind-urban-industrial-internal-clear-glazed-metro-black-door-762mm.html?msclkid=594310d076641559e1e47038523a526d&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SCT - Catch All Low Bid PLA&utm_term=4576511000066512&utm_content=All Products PLA#images-6 Bare in mind it will always have doggy nose prints on it. Also don’t forget this type of door will need an extra long door latch (so that the handle is in the intended place and not weirdly close to the edge) so make sure you use a really good joiner to put the door in....See MoreAntonia
