Advice on sitting room paint colour and curtains please
Comments (5)First thing that makes the paper too busy is the stuffed room. So declutter. If nowhere else to put it, find a spacious cupboard/drawers. Paint it Yeabridge Green for example. Don't design around a sofa set you don't like. Find some pillows, rug and blankets that go well with the paper and floor. Make yourself a moodboard with curtains and such and then decide. Here are some F&B paint colors that could work well (I've tried them all, would not advise any other). Personally I like the first three on the left. But haven't seen your room (and taste), so no further suggestions.....See MoreAdvice on paint colour please!
Comments (16)Verdi - thank you - something we can lay ourselves will definitely help the budget. So far, the room has been decorated with left over/ donated paint, so I hope the husband will agree to the Amtico. Forgot to say that, the Downpipe paint will be used to decorate the utility room instead (I found it a bit dark for the room)....See MoreColour dilemma - grey walls with cream/pink brick slips
Comments (6)For your information, F&B Skimming stone has a Lightness of 85.25 (out of a 100). A Chroma of 6.154, which indicates it is a near neutral. And a Hue Angle of 88.21° So it sits close to the centre of the Yellow Hue Family. Useful if you need to partner it with other near neutrals or even more colourful colours. You can use the geometry of the Wheel to create harmonies. Were you to find that Skimming Stone felt a little to yellow next to your pinkish brick, the strategy would be to find something with a similar Lightness & Chroma, but move the Hue Angle anti-clockwise nearer towards the Yellow-Red Hue Family. But I hope your colour dilemma works out fine & this is knowledge to tuck away until you need it again. 🌈...See MoreWhat colour to paint our house? - Advice please
Comments (8)I think a continuation of the white that is on the top part of the house would set of the lovely colour of the windows. Something like sandtex 'cotton belt' or bedec 'old white'. Alternatively, a monocouche render in a light colour would look fantastic too and set of the grey green window colour. On the paint manufacturers website There is a colour scheme for painswick which shows a lovely creamy coloured cill. The timbers are a lovely feature too so perhaps just a freshen up along the lines of the existing colour. Maybe it's time to drive around your area and look at the colourways of the houses that you admire and just be a copy cat 😊 It's a lovely house. Congrats....See MoreUser
