Hanging strap mirrors

I would like to hang three circular mirrors which have leather hanging straps and nickel finish.

Can anyone suggest a means of hanging them that doesn't involve a normal nail or screw? The walls are plasterboard so the fixing will need to be secure as the mirrors are quite heavy.

One of my customer's had a similar problem in a property that she has just recently moved in to. As long as you use Plasterboard plugs then you shouldn't have a problem. I've manage to hang several very heavy mirrors amongst other things using these. I'd get a wooden peg, lots of the mirrors come with these as a package, but they can be sourced all over the place. This is a tricky one without seeing in the flesh. It is not so much the screw size that is of importance but the fixing method itself. It is likely that the plasterboard has been either 'dot and dabbed' onto the brick wall, or fixed to battens which in turn have been secured to the brick wall. Usually this void is not deep enough to use hollow wall anchors (e.g. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Screws+%26+Fixings/d90/Cavity+Fixings/sd1930/Hollow+Wall+Anchor/p36548). I would first of all speak to the builder to see what they suggest or how the plasterboard was fixed to the wall. If battens have been used, my suggestion would be to find the location of these and screw into these.

Hi Sven. Thanks for your comment. Mirrors are indeed a really great surface to work with as they can be used in many different ways. They also reflect light and space to make interiors feel brighter and more spacious, or are used to create beautiful decorative elements. The Sunrise mirror actually can be used to view someone's reflection as the centre part of the mirror is clear, but it also possesses a pattern on the edges that has been delicately etched and an antiqued finish to turn it also into a featured element.

Drill a downward sloping hole in the wall, add a rawl plug and screw that needs to protrude about 1cm and then hang the mirror off it.
