What paving did you use please? I a. Looking to mimic York stone around a pool but without the cost! Raj green always seems a bit patchwork like!

This is more per m2 than York stone. I agree - the Indian Sandstones are very patchwork looking and not the best look for around a pool - the slab differences are more extreme when wet! Have you considered a polished sandstone? They are not 'highly' polished, have grip of a coarse sand paper but there tends to be slighter colour variances.

Don’t do it! There is a reason why you can’t find examples on Pinterest and that’s because it’s not a great look. At a push you could edge all round with one colour and fill in with the other, but again I’m not sure. If you want to add some colour or interest some people use outdoor rugs. They are tough and can be left out in the rain.

I have porcelain and Indian Sandstone in my garden. Porcelain comes in different R ratings (R9 - R13). The higher the rater the better the non slip effect. Mine is R13 and is completely non slip even in the pouring rain. The drawback is the non slip finish means it holds onto dirt and can get grubby (mine does), so rather annoying! Never have the R13 indoors as cleaning it is difficult. The sandstone is a natural finish that comes in a riven rustic finish and a calibrated finish which is more modern and straight edged. It comes in many shades from grey, beige, pale green etc. I’m not suggesting what you choose but a paving that is difficult to clean is a right pain! Celine there are loads of porcelain finishes from the palest of white to wood effect and dark grey. I would avoid white as it could show the dirt a bit too much! Here’s some more images of porcelain. I don’t know what the paving is in your pics but possibly porcelain?

Hi there, I agree with Sarah. The crazy paving path does look like it is coming appart, and therefore I would try and replace that too. I would also make it a bit wider than it is at the moment (a bit more comfortable to walk on, especially if carrying garden tools etc.). You could use bricks to match the short wall that you have there or maybe bound gravel with an edging of bricks would also look charming. I would also line it with some planting, maybe some lavenders, cat mint or something else aromatic. For the gravelled area that you have at the moment, it looks like it is your seating area? If this is the case I would go for a more solid type of paving with a naturalistic look such as sandstone or yorkstone, and maybe have a brick edging as well just to connect the different spaces of the garden.
