Comments (9)I did set up account on Qtect, I am not sure the service offering at QTect provides the adequate level of interactivity for me to submit a detailed design brief. Good sales pitch though, but I am not sure I would be able to set and convey my expectations however the propective designers budgetary need is already baselined right from the onset, which equates to a one way street, what if the 3 options (from all the designer proposals) are all rubbish, I am not sure it is a good idea to commit to paying for work that does not involve focused consultation....See MorePlease help with ground floor re-design and layout ideas
Comments (12)I do like the OnePlan en-suite option but it would be very, very small for an en-suite and I'd have to dig up the floor to add another toilet, all of which can be avoided if I just leave the downstairs bathroom as it is....I have guests who stay regularly and no one has complained yet. I think this would be an unnecessary expense, love to do it but must be mindful of my budget. I definitely agree that it would be less annoying and more private for my guests to access the bathroom and their bedroom off of the hallway and not the living/dining room, so I shall try and come up with something else for coat storage. kikiamack Unfortunately there is not enough space even when making the double doors into a single to squeeze coat storage into the corner :(...See MoreHelp me re-design my tiny garden!
Comments (13)I thought that shed looked ideal plus you can do all sorts of things with them, add a window, add a log store to the side, and paint in any colour. Cheaper alternative for paving is gravel and like you said bark chippings, I find the crunch of gravel more satisfying to walk on tho....See MoreGarden re design
Comments (10)I got bored and drew some ideas anyway 🙂. Not to scale or anything just made a guess from the photos. I’ve left the trampoline in it’s current position in all sketches but when kids grow older I was thinking a tree (hazelnut tree or similar would be nice) or maybe even a bbq hut could go there. Having planting closer to the house and garden room will help blur the boundaries and a meandering path will lead you to the upper patio without using the garden building as a walkway. It’s important I think to have something on the right hand side of the garden to help balance the large garden building so I’ve included this in all sketches. In the 3rd pic I’ve extended the patio further which could be nice for pergola, outdoor kitchen/bar etc. If you’re wondering why I called the 2nd pic The tadpole it’s because that’s what I thought it looked like 😅. It’s my favourite for its simplicity and softer shape which will blend nicely with the backdrop. Planting can big, small, low maintenance, evergreen, perennial....huge amount of choice depending on aspect, soil conditions etc. so don’t feel daunted by adding in lots of plants as I think this will soften all the hard lines and help it feel lush and interesting. Sketches plus added a (not so well drawn) visual of the tadpole design 🙂....See Moresteve3122
