What kind of rug to choose?
Comments (6)I would look at Laura Ashley's rugs, I think an Aubusson style rug would work wonderfully well and Laura Ashley produce some that I see in some of the best homes and they always look original introduced with classic furniture like yours....my choice would be http://www.lauraashley.com/uk/rugs/baroque-cotton-and-wool-rug/invt/3585531 or http://www.lauraashley.com/uk/rugs/victoriana-traditional-cotton-and-wool-rug/invt/victorianaru...See MoreLiving/dining room design - advise needed!
Comments (23)Guys, please help!! Is it just me so something is still off??..is everything too bland...? Today we have received our rug and some other accessories.. and it seems that cushions and a throw are too much, so will return those...and will use light purple throw. But for some reason I have a feeling that something isn't just right..have I gone completely mad?.. Please let me know what you think of this..! And apologies about the dog, he just loves being in a centre of everything :) thank you!!!!...See MoreRug advice for living room

I have positioned my old sofa against the back wall, it is at least 3 inches wider than any of the ones I’d shortlisted from Ikea. I think it looks good there. I am going to leave the tv where it is for now, the unit it stands on is 120cm wide and fits nicely into the space, I think the same range can be built higher and in white, so that might be an option. I have taken down the curtain by the door and feel the room is brighter and bigger without it, plus no drafts. Any thoughts on lighting? I have seen a few copper lights I quite like...See Moreminnie101
