Now that my kids are growing up and privacy is hard to find, my bedroom has become my sanctuary. Decorated in soft greys and white, I keep it super tidy and feel restful as soon as I walk in the room!

Yes. Our youngest's bed is in our room! Looking forward to upsizing shortly.

I think you could have got away with it although lovely to use it for your room! I think (!) you have just about enough room for curtains as there won't be much material to stack back although you may need to use end caps rather than finials on the eaves side. My only worry Is that it could make the wall seem shorter but try it with sheets first as I do like the look as per my first pic and would have the same layout with bed where it is and move your chests under the window. I like the other pelmet but it doesn't allow the blinds to show unless you block light so might remove it. I mistakenly thought you had the grape version of the fabric so might look at a grey velvet bed or even a green one or I do like the rattan ones. The one pictured is from the French bedroom company. I managed to get one for my spare room in it's raw state off eBay for £270 and then I painted it myself. If you could store the laundry elsewhere this was my idea for a leaner mirror opposite the window but with a low upholstered bench/settle in front. The dressing table looks as if it was made to measure and good for storage? I might paint it a lighter shade, change the mirror for something a little more delicate and add a stool

Love your bedroom Patrina, gorgeous:) Agree with previous comment, it’ll be difficult to match bedding colour. Also Rockett St George have an indigo bedspread you might be interested in (whopping price tag tho), again not sure about the colour but would look fab against the rust orange cushions and bedside lights. Or maybe you could turn the fabric you have now into a bed runner?

Another option would be to inject some luxurious fabric or colour in your bedding - quilt, pillows with a floor rug even. Then picking up a colour to work into your lamps shades, or even changing your lamps to something taller. and more striking. Another addition could be a wall hanging of a really fabulous material over the bed head that ties with your bedding choices.
