Curved pocket doors partly or fully glazed

Hi - Can any one recommend a manufacturer of curved pocket doors ideally partly glazed and timber or fully glazed. It's for internal residential use. Thanks in advance.

Hi Minnie thank you for the help darling, yes we will mirror the right side porch brick column then split the as rest sidelights. Nice and centered for my symmetry obsessed brain. I think I know what you mean about the horizontal bars, especially as they would have to work with the panels in the doors and I can't really see how that would work. I am still fighting with the idea of plain glass though, not sure how I could get to see some modern clear glass leaded panels?? I have this strong gut feeling that adding a bit of detail to the panels will make the whole entrance feel nicer. Colour wise I think would rather have a little contrast especially as we have the garage door as well, but I'm not feeling the stronger colours. I am considering light blue from farrow and ball, too safe????

Sliding doors or bifolds or other option?

There is no right or wrong answer - and as suppliers and installers of award winning bifold AND sliding door systems we have no bias towards one or the other. When we get asked this question by customers there are a number of initial things we would ask to try and make some recommendations - and we have written a blog all about these. Probably the most valuable question is how often are you likely to have the doors fully open. Our SF55 aluminium bifold doors can be manufactured up to 1.1m wide and have an industry leading narrow sightline of 115mm (the amount of frame visible when closed) and over a 7m run of 7x1m panels you will have 6 intermediate frames totalling 690mm of aluminium. We do two aluminium sliding door systems the Grand Slider (83mm sightlines) or our award winning theEDGE (narrow 24mm sightline) - both can take glass sizes of up to 3m wide so over a 7m run of 3x2.33m panels you will have 166mm of intemediate aluminium visible with the Grand Slider and just 48mm visible with theEDGE. So if your doors are closed more often than open there is significantly less frame than glass in sliding doors, however the trade off is that unless you opt for a pocket slider you are not able to open a sliding door completely to create a total 7m opening like you are with bifold doors - you would only open 4.66m of the 7m (or 5.25m if you went for four sliding door panels). In terms of thermal performance both SF55 and the sliding door systems can be double or triple glazed and achieve pretty similar U-Values and in terms of price the SF55 and Grand Slider systems work out to be almost identical - although theEDGE is a bit more because of the advanced engineering required to create such a narrow profile. Thank you Minnie .. I have just seen your comment. I was thinking storage units across the nook opposite the kitchen. Hence why no rad there. The positioning of the utility has been a constant battle. Originally this space was going out 10x5 metres and was approved as such .. but now adding a second extension which has improved the balance. This position is at the back of the garden - which goes right around the house. We need an outside door to the utility and this causes the least interference. We have made the utility smaller so we can fit a sky light in to light the kitchen. I’ve blocked the current doors as you’ve described and it’s ok considering it’s quite a dark house .. plus there will be more light once extension complete ...thanks for that tip.

Thanks Jonathan, this layout does provoke thought and makes me wonder how we might be able to do it when all things are considered. The attached pics show the air source heating units which need at least 75cm space all round them, and the pics show the area behind the garage a bit better. These air source are right where your plan shows the exit door; but that door could be placed on the TV/fireplace wall and extend storage.... (it's a right mess at the mo!) Grey garage door at front of the house. Bins and air source heating at the side of the garage (along with a pile of patio stone and rubbish). The proposed front store room (see architect drawings) is to be where the bins are. The large store room is proposed to be beyond the air source heat units. Back of the garage. This is the wall where the bar is initially proposed to be and the exit to the store room. Back of the garage - the whole area for the proposed store room (along the far fenceline), and covered courtyard.
