We did use marble in the shower walls and hex on the floor tiled over a tray. Re etching not too much w calacatta polished but Carrara honed yes (another bathroom) Re cleaning No limescale remover or bleach can be used or it is ruined! Yes, the floor has been made level with the shower base (a Wedi tray). The shower tray is set as low as it can be. 20mm thick board has been placed on the floor to level it with the shower tray. I'm thinking of removing that board so the floor height will be lower than the shower base - hence the need to create a curb around the shower. Hope this makes sense! Here's a photo looking through the door, once tiled the doorway threshold will be 32 - 35 mm higher than the hallway if I leave the floor as it is.

Hi Richard, I'm happy to help but I need some more information. Where is your soil pipe? How much space is in the floor in order to move pipes around if necessary. What is currently in the space. I would try to put the bath under the window if possible and keep the shower away from the window. What is the height of the window sill? Try not to have the toilet in plain view when you enter the room.
