We are doing a side return extension on our Victorian terrace home and our builder has given us a very competitive quote for our kitchen from a company called LochAnna which does look exactly what we are looking for ....... Mussel colour shaker Has anyone heard of this company or used them and got any personal experience regarding quality etc?
We are also looking at Howdens

Hi. I'm afraid I haven't heard of Lochanna Kitchens, so can't help you there, I'm afraid. Can you tell me where abouts you are based, roughly? We are independent kitchen designers and can supply and fit all sorts of different kitchens. One design that came to mind as soon as I read your post is the Clonmel range from Kitchen Stori, which we can supply for you. Bear in mind that Howdens do great deals for builders, so you may not get quite what you wanted. Feel free to get in touch if you think we might be able to help. We are based in Kent and in Wiltshire, but will travel!!

Hello, I do a lot of work with one of my local kitchen companies and they offer Lochanna when customers are on a tight budget. They're very affordable and the quality seems ok but they've only been supplying them for a few months so it's hard to know what their shelf life is. I'd ask your builder when he started working with this brand to see if he knows how durable they are. Obviously the door needs to look good but the quality of the carcasses is also important and the quality of the fitting, but I'm assuming you've already checked out your builders kitchen fitting experience. The company I work with gets its carcasses from a supplier called GKC and their quality is very good.

    Hi Paul
Thanks for your comment ..... We are in Dorchester Dorset and struggling to find a good showroom .... The local suppliers in Bridport showroom is 5 yrs old and to be fair is not totally inspriring us due to poor fitting apparently ..... Could you suggest a better showroom in the area ?

Hi JJowitt - there a few kitchen shops in dorchester ... have you been into the one by the antiques centre (near petrol station ) and the one near all the takeaway shops with the bar table and stools in the window ??
Sometimes smaller independents do offer much more in the way of service than some of the big chains !

(I don't sell product - just design - but am local - hence my interest !)

Hi JJOWITT, I have a kitchen design showroom and we are a retailer specialising in Lochanna kitchens and have sold the same product for 10 years, it is honestly the best kitchen product on the market for quality and price compared to some of the typical builders merchant / national kitchen companies. I know Paul has given you details of a Lochanna retailer, I just thought I'd also comment to reassure you of the quality of product and after sales service at Lochanna. Hope this helps :)

After my experiences, Id advise you to avoid Loch Anna kitchens. Reasons are; the carcases are a flat pack design and although mine arrived assembled, they had been crammed with other kitchen components, in effect used as a packing crate and the the joiints hadn't been glued and the fixings were loose. Flat pack units just aren't as durable as a factory built unit whhere steps are taken to stop moisture getting into the joints from spillages. Multiple doors had issues; scratches, manufacturing faults, and the edging on the range I bought was just the stuck on melamine edge banding not the thicker nylon that is mire durable. Many components were missing or wrong. I ws quite a bit out of pocket by the time I finallly completed the kitchen. But the brochure is fantastic!

Im afraid after recently purchasing a kitchen from Loch Anna i would say ” Avoid….dont go near them” Product is ok but their customer service is appalling…..not a company i would ever recommend to anyone!! Such a stressful ( and very expensive) period in my life….
