Which extractor fan for this kitchen? Help!

Hi All,
In a pickle. Husband and I can't agree on extractor fan for kitchen! Installers coming in a week, so really need to make a decision. Kitchen plan is below. The cupboards are off white, work tops Quartz, floors dark wood and we have white metro tiles with pale grey grout going in.
As can be seen in picture, hob is in corner with extractor fan hanging from ceiling (so has to be 'island' fan).
Option A is traditional style steel hood by smell
Option B is flat fan against ceiling
Which one?

Comments (2)You can get extractors that have external/remote motors which are (a bit) quieter but you'll still have induction noise, Faber, Westin, Elica for example. But just having the right sized ducting going smoothly outside can make a huge difference to the noise level and efficiency. Comments (7)I have a 110cm Rangemaster too with the integrated extractor. We went for a Smeg which is 78cm wide and works really well with the hob. I'm afraid I can't remember the model or the price but it was definitely below £600 and I think it was quite a bit less than that. 7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoHi Tamp, Yes, I would like to put shelves from window to microwave, like the shelves in this photo. I think this will create a through-line from window to microwave? But maybe more cupboards would be better? Just thought it would be quite heavy and dark with more cupboards...

7 years agoThanks for your comments guys, we went for the flat extractor but the ceiling needed to be slightly lowered - see photo of finished product! Not sure whether to add second shelf above these?
