I'm looking for cool and modern net curtains, but in a traditional style??? Where are these nets from?

Hi Mark,

I'm not sure on the exact design but it does look very similar to our Ashurst Net Curtain assuming it is a base lace design you are after. We also stock many nets and voiles that can balance modern and traditional. Perhaps Lauren is a good option, but we do have many custom made net curtains and voile curtains you could choose from with filters on the left of our site to help narrow down the options.

Well, i'm still on the hunt for blinds! i found another online store who do a really nice light voile: http://www.tuiss.co.uk/roller-blinds/1951/maglia-cashmere.htm but again they cant do a blind big enough for my living room window. I did have a consultation with Hillary's blinds - the quote is good but the fabric the sheerest fabric they have is sill quite heavy but right now this is the only feasible option. I'm really gutted i have to compromise on the material but it's better to have the same material in all the rooms than different! Still - if anyone has come across any other place please do share :o)

Hi. I agree with the comment above re window treatment and would hang the blinds in the recess, maybe introducing a pattern? Ignore the style of this room as I'm not too sure what you like as you've got a few in your ideabook but white always works for a west facing room. You could have the chimney breast in green with a white mantle and also go green for a sofa (assume the wing chair is staying?). You can also add small accents of blue or aubergine. Alternatively you could go for a pale muted olive with some warmth to it on all walls, similar to the tile colour in your very first pic in your ideabook and then paint the mantle grey and go for grey sofas. You could also add aubergine to this and gold accents for a mirror etc would look nice. If I was to paint anything oth than the surround I'd paint the coffee table as I don't find this tones in as well as the other woods.

If its rented (so no major changes) have you considered window frosting film? you can get in a huge number of fantastic patterns so you can go wild, maybe if you're on the 3rd floor you could put it on the bottom half of the window so you can still see the sky and look down when you're up close but otherwise not be seen? https://www.amazon.co.uk/window-frosting-film/s?k=window+frosting+film
