Pink sofa need advice

I have place with rooms to rent. When we enter the place there is a small lobby with pink sofa (which was not picked by me). I need some advice to make this place not too girl nor old.. Can anyone help me what should i add and what type/color to make it better?

if there is a picture to support it would be great, oh yea and the budget is not high.

Is it just this space you are planning on updating? And are you keeping the brown cupboards and wall tiles?

Hi albricci,

You can really transform a sofa by introducing different
accent colours and patterns through decorative cushions. Your pinkish-purple
sofa will work perfectly with pops of fresh greens and soft blues. Echo these
colours within other accessories around the space such as groups of glass vases
and ornaments to create a cohesive flow.

If you are open to painting your wooden desk area and wall
panelling, you could try a contemporary grey tone such as Dulux Night Jewels 4
in a durable Eggshell finish (being sure to sand and prime the surface before
painting). For the wall colours you could retain a fresh crisp Absolute White
or a blush tone such as Dulux Soft Montelimar 4. Although quite a typically
feminine colour, the grey tones will balance this and offer a warm and inviting
scheme.

I love all the art you have chosen for this room....and the bit of yellow in them totally work. I was nervous about the size of a few, so grouping is a good idea. I think the largest one can work alone and the other two can maybe stack?

If you're based in the UK you've missed the best of the drying weather. Choose a windy day as I doubt you'll get them dry within 24 hours sufficient to put straight back on the sofa. I'd use some stain remover such as Vanish on the grubby area, wash them on the lowest temperature so they don't shrink or loose colour and only do one spin cycle. Liquid or powder is fine. I used to have a sofa with removable outer cushions and washed them with no problems. The biggest problem was getting them really dry and putting them back on.

I think I'd put the T.V in corner A. It's the one least likely to get glare from the Windows. If your Sofa is along the line B /C ( don't know where the door is ), Then you will not be to close to the T.V. If the Sofa is in the middle then at a rough guess you're going to be well over 10-12 Feet away from corner A.............

Perhaps you should play not only with basic colours of furniture and walls, but even with colour of light by means of curtains. Or you are not going to change anything in window interior?
