Front of house - warm/soft white with grey accents. But how?!
Comments (5)Big thanks tamp75. I really like your idea of RAL 9007 for garage door (standard product) and Sadolin "volcanic ash" for the window frames. Hadn't thought of that! And I think you might be right about the weathering of the "traditional" shade of Marshalls driveway products. Have been noticing this as a pass local front gardens. Anyone have any ideas for a warm/soft white shade for the exterior wall? A mum at school suggested RAL 9010 - she said that was the advice her sister (an architect) had given her on her house (she was doing the interiors). Comments (7)Hi Asifa, Either will look good, it really just a personal preference. Do you want to match the neighbouring houses or do you not mind? Are there any planning restrictions that limit your choice? Here is a red brick cottage where we replaced old timber windows with modern aluminium frames. They opted to have a clear glass face to the windows for maximum light into the home. On this house they chose to opt for glazing bars within the windows as the home owners preferred the traditional appearance and wanted their home to continue that design. You can see that both options can look great but it will depend what finish you would prefer. You can view some more images of windows with and without glazing bars at our website: www.hedgehogaluminium.com We also have a large glazing showroom at the Sky House Design Centre in Amersham. Let me know if you would like to arrange an appointment to visit and you can see these examples in person. Comments (5)We love those kind of extensions - loads of natural light flooding in from the roof lantern and bifolds and you will gain a valuable addition to the property that can be used comfortably all year round that will seamlessly link indoor and outdoor spaces when required. As already suggested, we think you should go for anthracite on both in and out. The look will be more contemporary (which you indicated you want) and the mix of styles already in the house will mean they will not look out of place. You may also save a significant extra cost and perhaps some of the lead time. I attach a mock-up of the indoor scene you posted with some greyed windows that should give some idea of what the colour will look like if not the style... For a reference, here is a pic of a similar extension you are having that uses a mix of anthracite bifold doors and roofing beams, but older style white windows... Hope it helps. Best of luck with your project. Regards, Tom YES Glazing Solutions...See Moregrey or white chairs
Comments (7)If you like the grey theme I'd say go with grey chairs. I feel they would nicely blend in. Classy. White chairs could perhaps be too much of a statement and rather stark too. Probably a good idea to then cheer it up with colourful accessories and furnishings. A nice rug would also work methinks. I do like Minnie's bench suggestion....See MoreWood Window Alliance
