What do you think I should do about this old dresser?
Comments (25)wow stellahome, what a grand house and entrance! I'm intrigued! Do you have many original features left in the house? servant bells maybe? :) Post some pictures for us! I am very familiar with lassco, in fact I currently live 5 mins away from there, and pop in often, they have many wonderful items which really enhance an old house. Took a couple of more pictures today of the dresser, as even though it looks very worn, look at the dovetail joint details! They certainly don't make them like this anymore (unless you pay a hefty price for it!)...See MoreConcrete floors - love it or leave it?
Comments (22)Got to agree with radicalman - there are actually a lot of downsides to a concrete floor. Because they're so brittle and hard they are almost guaranteed to crack - they're also very cold and unforgiving underfoot. We offer a poured resin that is just 3-4mm thick and is so similar looking to concrete a lot of people can't tell the difference. Essentially we pour two pigments at the same time and blend them so you get the same finish/effect - but it's warm, smooth, soft (elastic) and really comfortable so you can walk around your home/kitchen etc. barefoot without worrying about it! Aesthetically though I love a polished concrete floor - such a great blank canvas for any style as it complements contemporary interiors and provides a really interesting contrast with more traditional styles! If you want a warmer finish (in a taupey grey or warmer pigment) that's also possible and stops it looking too industrial......See MoreHelp me decide on my floor plan!
Comments (36)Personally I would try not to develop the family room as I sense it will never be the contemporary structure dominating your ideasbook and will eventually be replaced. Given that you have mentioned later extension I think I would be looking to open up the rooms you currently have and add extra rooms later as the budget allows it. Personally I would want a big lounge on the right hand side and I would put hubbys desk in the niche and either screen it when you all want to be in the lounge or alternatively buy a beautiful desk for the niche and hide a wireless printer and filing cabinet in the store room which I imagine is also plenty big enough to be a utility....See Morehardwood Vs engineered wood flooring
Comments (17)I actually buy my flooring from a company in Romford, so this works out lovely. Their name is wood floors and accessories (WFA) If you let them know Rob Jones from RJ Flooring told you to get in contact - they will look after you. Any issues, let me know and I will help any way I can. Their products are the best around and they have a show room ect so you can see what you're buying and how its made https://wfa.uk.net < thats their website, every one there is really helpful....See Moreshelleyuk
