I need help choosing the colour paint for my refurbished kitchen

We are about to start refurbishing our kitchen and have a dilemma about the paint colour on the walls. the units will be mid-grey and the worktop while with a sparkle so we need something to lift the effect....but what! We'd really appreciate professional advice. Eleanor

That should say "white" not "while"...sorry.

I have two to do more, but i've had enough for today, practically all my wall done, i havent taken a picture yet because its a mess on my table and i cant be arsed to tidy up. I have a banging headache from this paint and the white spirit used to clean, have turned off the music and just need to sit in a quiet room for now.... lol I will post a picture when it is tidy and have finished my second frame! Might do it later, or leave it for another night...

I have been advised to paint the colour of the walls the same as the white cabinets to avoid highlighting how off white my cabinets are. However won't this make the kitchen look bland. Can you advise what colour I could use as a feature wall to add contrast /tonal. Also which wall(s) would you chose as a feature wall.

I think a light grey would enhance your table and chairs. You can add accents of brighter colours in small touches (kitchen herbs, fruit bowl,...) and some art on the table wall? The kitchen looks quite dark, you could consider letting more light in by leaving the blinds up and maybe change the ceiling lighting to halogen spots?

hi there. just about any colour would work with grey and white. what is the general style of your house? kitchen cabinet style? how much open wall space is there? pictures will help greatly

In addition to the colour of the walls lifting the overall look of your kitchen, have you considered a colourful splashback? We've found quite a few of our clients who go for white/neutral kitchens choose brighter/contrasting splashbacks :)

(A) painting an alcove a particular colour that pleases you.

(B) Having the Island section a different colour.

(C) A decorative blind adds a spark.

I am not specifying 'the colour' or 'the fabric design', they are just ideas to assist.

(D) Imagine using an idea like this as a splash-back, it acts as a work of art - there are many interresting tile ideas.
