I need opinions on Caesar stone counter colours.

I'm doing a new kitchen and my preference for counters is Carrara Marble, however my kitchen company is strongly recommending a Caesarstone. What is a similar colour without looking like a marble "copy"?

If you like highly polished marble then the real thing may be the more cost effective solution.
If you want a softer look without being heavily sealed and polished then it won't be very resilient as a kitchen work surface. The manufactured product will keep its look better but it is possible you want it to become pock marked, dented and discoloured like you might find in a Tuscan farmhouse kitchen.

Hi there,

From experience the closest to Quartz composites which look like Carrara Marble are Quartzforms Veined Michelangelo, or Unistone Bianco Carrara. We don't deal with Caeserstone too much here anymore (no reason, just so many options available we tend to pick our favourties!) but from a look through our samples Caeserstone London Grey has the look of the marble, although a little more grey overall.

We would also advise strongly against putting marble in a kitchen, it is too porous and for such a large amount of money it can be damaged so easily. Generally the Quartz manufacturers are very good at imitating other stones, it won't look like a fake marble, just one that can take a bit more heavy use than marble can!

Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please

I think you are trying to tone with what is there but in a small space I think you need to go as light as possible. I would be looking for a nearly white granite with warmer veining such as artic white (bear in mind they are often called different things by different suppliers) I also like stone type products like Silestone

Thanks for the comments to date! We're thinking of going white counters (prob with speck) and darker matt grey perhaps RAL 7015 Slate Grey or RAL 7016 Anthracite) for the island and lower sink run cabinet doors. Then either all wood doors for the oven wall (although we can't get handleless so might not be ideal) or the off-white matt and keep the wood surround and drawer fronts.. An idea to make the island counter less bright is to do as in the image below. We could use the same Grey Oak wood as elsewhere by double boarding and edging it. Similarly, I think we could get the Quartz people to create a deeper counter (as in pic) so we have a different level between the two mediums. Does anyone think this could work? Also, the upper units on the sink run wall are still undecided. As is, they stand out as are deeper than the steel column (to right) and aren't symmetrical (one to left, two to right). Does anyone have any ideas on how to design this section, especially the gap where the steel is? Right now we are thinking of just replacing with open shelves but if there's a more stylish way of redesigning this section, I'd appreciate any ideas!

My husband is colorblind too (and our 4 year old too). Can't tell the diference between pale green and beige, between purple and navy. He lets me pick the colors for our house and simply says if he likes certain combinations or not. Even if he can't tell what color it is, if it looks good as a whole, he's fine with it. So even if you can't relate to a color, but it looks okay or in balance with the other colors, trust the wife. ;) All earthtones could be lovely, but some pop would be fun too (like sage/seablue). Just depends on the feel/style you want to achieve.

I agree with Seymour Kitchens I wouldn't as a kitchen designer recommend marble. A great alternative is minerva. Looks great. can give you seamless joints and can repaired. My showroom photos are not great but you can find out more at
