Please help with bedroom decor!!!
I have ordered the attached bed frame and am struggling a little with the rest of the furniture to put with the bed! We have a white built in wardrobe currently in one cove and an empty cover for another wardrobe or chest of drawers and a very large bay window for some more furniture.
I was worried about making everything else French grey and so wondered if anyone had some suggestions on other furniture colours and also room colours to compliment the bed!

Comments (10)Ok so your taste is a little more traditional. I still think greens and possibly duck egg blues will compliment that colour of wood as per these photos. If you want something a little warmer you could try a darker wine colour? Comments (9)Hi. Pretty much any colour will go as beige is neutral. I've just had a look in your Ideabook and you seem to favour neutrals with maybe a hint of purple or pink. I'd do something like the Oliver burns pic. Try Dulux just walnut for the walls. Go white for the bedding then add cushions and a throw in the mix of grey/beige and the mauve. I can't really see how the curtains would hang from the pics but if there is limited space to draw them back then don't go too dark on the curtains but keep them neutral. Add a patterned cushion to the chair in the mauve (can this be positioned elsewhere?) and also a light rug with lots of texture under the bed. Comments (3)Can you post a layout , include where the window & door and also the radiator, which looks not to be under the window ( not helping ). Also, as you are keeping the furniture, could you include the sizes of those pieces too. I think Hague blue will look great, really restful in a bedroom too. 7 years agoHow about a nice pop of yellow to complement the greys? It can be quite subtle, brought in in the soft furnishings or accessories. Here is an idea from our paint range of Little Greene to illustrate the idea. Hope this helps!

7 years agoHi Sophie. Have you considered a feature wall for behind the bed? I think a faux panelling looks great with this style of bed. You could team it with Something like ammonite by farrow and ball or a warm white or pale grey. A few pics in your ideabook have wood floors but if this is out maybe look at a colour similar to the padded headboard but a shade or so lighter, a sisal might be nice for texture. You seem to like neutrals so I'd mix shades of the grey and beige for curtains and accessories but add different textures and patterns. I think the bed will look great with a couple of throws and a few cushions. Id get samples of everything though to see how the colours work together. Definitely wood for the chest, perhaps antique for a bit more character? Depending on how much storage you need these side tables with antique mirror tops would look nice as bedsides and perhaps a velvet chair for the bay? A chandelier would look lovely or a textured contemporary pendant light, there are a couple of nice feather ones around :)

7 years agoLovely bed choice. This style is really popular so you should be able to find lots of inspiration here on Houzz. I agree that it could look a little washed out with all white / cream colour choices. Love the idea of popping some colour on the walls, if you're worried about painting maybe try and find some art or print pieces with colour to pop above the bed? Or try popping some colour on your bed... I really think that some natural linen would lovely on the bed though, more suited to the room than bold brights.
