Comments (1)You can get wireless ones which don't need to be on a wall, they can sit in a draw for example. Or you can buy a more modern looking switch. I have a salus one with a touch ring, it's also wireless, and I think it was about £100 for the full kit (from memory). It's wall mounted but not hard wired so I can hide it if needed....See MoreWhich Digital Shower?
Comments (5)We put in an aqualisa digital shower in our old ensuite upon our plumbers recommendation. It has a control which you can situate in your bathroom or bedroom etc that you switch on and when the light flashes it lets you know when it's reached your set temperature. They're not particularly cheap but I would highly recommend. Our shower enclosure was small but not an issue as the shower was so good. We installed maybe 2/3 years before we moved and didn't have any issues with it....See MoreAnyone have an Aqualisa Q digital shower with ceiling drencher head?
Comments (0)We are fitting an Aqualisa Q digital shower with ceiling drencher head as well as hand-held head on riser bar. The problem is that the plumber fitted the ceiling head a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was fine until I came to think about the riser bar as the whole thing sticks out much further than ususal - about 35cm. This means that if I positioned the riser rail centrally, the head would overlap the ceiling head. So I have to have the riser bar off centre to the tray which I find quite annoying. Or have the drencher head re-positioned. Aqualisa give no guidance about the layout of the fittings. You have to discover for yourself which is a bit annoying considering the cost of the shower!...See MoreWhich heating system for renovation
Comments (4)I'd opt for unvented, you don't have the need for a large tank as the hot water is mains fed so its better than a conventional system, you don't usually have the old feed and expansion small tank in the attic anymore as the system is slightly pressurized in most systems now. Even with electric showers, i'd have the main bathroom fitted with a decent non-electric shower and with any kids showers i'd have the showers with thermostatic valves for safety. The downside to a combi as it only raises the water temperature verses flow so the colder the water is ie in winter, the slower/less pressure you can run the water, which is also one of the downsides to electric showers. There are a few combi's that have a small hot water cylinder in built but with 4 bathrooms to feed it would soon be used up. If you're worried about your existing pipework not being able to withstand any pressure then i'd get it checked now before any work is done instead of waiting for signs of water damage when all the work has been carried out....See Morechristopherblowers
