Help matching wall colour to sofa.
Comments (7)I would go with a pale grey/beige colour. Something like a Farrow and Ball Dimity or Clunch would look lovely. I think you'll find it hard to match wallpaper so would stick with flat paint. I would then introduce a more definite accent colour and perhaps a new brighter rug. Oranges and mustard yellows would look nice with the sofa. Hope this helps...See More2 sofas - matching or non matching?
Comments (18)It’s like you can read my mind!! Yes, a pop of orange in cushions plus maybe a dark blue chair? and blue/grey on the walls. The rooms are quite big (8m x 7m kitchen, 8m x5m drawing room separated by 1.8m corridor) so the plan is to have dado height panelling in vaulted entrance and hallway with the whole fireplace wall panelled in drawing room. White of course!! Stairs are going to be walnut and white with wrought iron spindles and white panelling up the side. Do you think I’d get away with painting hallway a warmer greige colour as it’s north facing and I don’t want it to feel too cold. Love the idea of a vintage Georgian piece, genius. This is our dream home which we’re building mostly ourselves and we’ve been renting for 5 1/2 years to make it a reality so I want to try to get it right even though I don’t know what I’m doing and just keep liking lots of Houzz photos...See MoreMatching sofas?
Comments (7)You can go with a similar but slightly different style sofa and accent chairs Or accent 2 seater and similar chairs Grey three seater and chairs and accent two seater Or embrace the eclectic style and go for all different pieces...See MoreRug ideas - contrasting colour sofas
Comments (21)Thanks everyone for your ideas. That's great and really useful. Like the rug ishanson. It's looking like either a neutral (but contrasting against beige carpet) or a colour based rug would work equally well, depending on personal preference. We have double doors from the living room into our dining room which has black & white check curtains - photo shows the view through. I'm wondering whether a black and white/ivory rug would connect the rooms together from a design point of view? Saying that I think a rug that pulls the colours together would look good too....See MoreKatrine Black
