Mix and match sofa and armchairs

Wonder if anyone has some advice here on mix and matching armchairs. Have a nice, pretty standard 2 seater sofa, with modern clean lines, dark grey. Would like to get 2 armchairs or occasional chairs for the other side of the coffee table. I am edging towards a matching pair of mid-century classics. However, would an alternative option be to NOT have matching occasional chairs, so one mid-century and one old leather chesterfield (e.g.).

I wonder overall if having 3 styles of chairs works, is this confusing in a room, or is sticking to 2 styles better. Thanks.

I think it can definitely be a good option to have a sofa and two different chairs.

I have been looking and yet to find one as the leather ones are really modern! Are you sure fabric won't work in a deep purple or slate if stain guarded? The other option is a 3 seater leathers Chesterfield and maybe a plum fabric chair. Chesterfields I personally think can either look very masculine or feminine depending on what they're paired with but ideally you'd want a slim one

Hello helsbells79, Right yes that will be good... Think of silvery grey cushions Origami by Nitin Goyal could be nice in silvery or cream or both... Will add a light element to tie in the wallpaper... Add some coppery accessories too to bring the flooring to life too.. Browns, charcoals, silvers and creams all work well together.. Keep the ottoman and layer a throw over it... Perhaps a table lamp with mercury glass and a dark charcoal shade... or two! : ))

Mixed sofas are very popular and as long as they blend together well you should be okay. I have 2 fabric sofas (one plain and one checked) and a dark brown leather wingback chair and they look fine together. Just be careful with a patterned sofa as they can be difficult to place. I’d go with plain and then jazz it up with cushions and a rug. Good luck!

Thank you, I think we're getting there, the wall colours will be neutral / off grey colour which won't be far off the grout colour so will aim to get a curtain fabric that perhaps pulls the colour of the floor bricks in more.
