Sofa and living room dilemma

Need desperate help with our awkward living room layout! Our room is a bit awkward with bay window, small alcove, doors into middle room (photos attached). We're trying to decide where to put sofa & tv, and attach a couple of photos. The obvious place to put the tv is in the largest alcove, but this is right beside the south east facing window - I would hate to have the blinds down all the time as we need to bring light into the house. I also don't really like the idea of the tv above the stove, unless really necessary. I attach a few possible layouts.

Hi Sian! I would not recommend painting the wall red or green as per se. If you have a small room and furniture is red/green you need to be careful with wall colour, I suggest keeping it as neutral as possible. Soft/dark grey is a safe choice and looks good in contrast to red. It would be good to see the rest of the furniture for a better perspective, perhaps you can take photos with your phone? Check out the option below for colours. Considering your description of the room, I would think about Fashionable grey or Moroccan brown (disregard the blue and brick colours) ? See below the options, from this palette you can also think about grey owl or similar.

Hi Karen, What a fantastic statement sofa - this is going to look great in your Living room. I would suggest you keep all your walls one colour, as the impact will be from your sofas, but I’d avoid putting a darker colour behind your sofa as it may result in this statement blending into the wall colour and not having the ‘wow’ piece you are wanting. I would recommend either Potters Clay 3, which is a pale, greyed off, taupe colour, or Chalk Blush 3 which is a pale, redder toned neutral. Both of these colours have a red undertone so will sit nicely against the purple colouring in your sofa. It depends on the shade of turquoise but coral, terracotta and shades of orange or yellow could work. I might consider doing the cocktail chair in a patterned turquoise fabric and the wing chair in a shade of orange

I think I prefer the Ikea sofa as the Next one looks a little bulky for the room, washable covers also sound good. I do prefer the Ikea sofa I added but yours should work too, they're identical except for the arms. I also think they work well with the chairs, a different style is good. Just personal opinion but again for me if you're going industrial I would go for a wood floor and it adds so much warmth to a room, LVT may be a softer option? (Last try I promise!). Not sure if you like any of this? I didn't find cushions to match just in case you hate this one and it takes a while looking! It's impossible to choose art for somebody but you may like these. Junique and desenio are also good for affordable prints. Neon signs are also a good way to personalise a room if that's your thing i would add lots of texture for accessories, I think you need to get the furniture agreed first though. I would go for a light neutral for the walls. Need to know which way the room faces and you could work with any undertone in the navy paint
