Two Orange Orla Kiely wallpapers, advice on which curtains to hang
Comments (13)Thanks for all your comments, I shall try to fill in a few gaps I'm aiming at a reclaimed oak floor throughout, but it will depend on the funds I can get together in the next couple of months (fingers crossed) The orange wall does look like a colour block on the picture but I've included a sample of how it looks close up I must admit that I did think it was a bit too much but it will be mainly covered with artwork with lighter frames ( I collect aboriginal bark art so that might have coloured my choice of paper ) The sofa is a really large ( 8 - 10 seat ) corner sofa, chocolate brown leather, cushioned in chocolate brown and lighter beige ( haven't got photos of it because it's still in storage ) as I've mentioned most of my furniture is mid to dark (20's / 30's ) oak bookcase, bureau and display cabinet ... pretty brown all round I took a couple of photos on the way past earlier but the light wasnt too good and the wide shot I took made the window wall look convex but it really isn't Thanks again for your input...See MoreWallpaper /ideas for living/dining room update please .
Comments (22)Hubby doesn't like the patterned one Kerry. His preference is to have the chimney breast in red and the rest in something plain like below for the alcoves and other walls. Would welcome your thoughts. Also we are planning an electric insert fire on chimney breast and have posted a separate question on that. Do you think we doing the right thing as we would need to widen the hole where it slots in ? Just thought it would add to modernisation of room. Suite and carpet would have to wait for another year . Comments (5)Bedroom curtains ican't be too plush in my opinion. I'd go for a good weight slub velvet and make sure you don't skimp on the type of heading. A lot of ready made curtains have 2" headings which can look cheap and nasty. Pinch pleats look great, but if funds are tighter, then go for a 3" Pencil Pleat. There are many sites that offer them made to measure for fairly reasonable prices. This one, Curtains2Go are good and it's easy to put in your measurements, and pick your heading type. I chose these cafe au lait velvet curtains with pinch pleats in a rough size for a bedroom window:-...See MoreBeckie Cave
