POLL: Glass screens or shower curtains?
Comments (24)We don't need to choose between two options anymore. Shower Screen, Shower Curtain or Shower Blind... My shower blinds offer a premium, heavier fabric that doesn't cling, is mould free due to the seam free design (registered), it create space and as it's out of sight when dry rolled up, you don't need to worry about cleaning it all the time! And the fabric can be easily removed when needing a change or for easy quick cleaning, due to the hook and loop fastening!...See MoreShower curtain v shower screen?
Comments (2)Roller shower blinds have been available for quite a while - we had one years ago at a previous house and it worked really well. Although it was white, it didn't mark at all in the 5 years for which we used it, although we were careful to wipe off any stray blobs of shower gel/shampoo and leave it down for a short while after showering so that it could dry/air off but it did just seem shrug off any water. Weighted rods at the bottom kept the blind hanging straight down and it didn't get sucked towards you like a shower curtain does. The rods were in three pieces - a longer one in the middle and two shorter ones at the ends so that the blind could follow the curve of the tub at the short ends. This arrangement meant that no water escaped the bath tub. It looked neat and unobtrusive when wound back into the cassette. Shower screens take much more looking after, in my experience, so I wouldn't choose to have another one. If I remember, our blind was relatively expensive compared to a shower curtain, but the looks, the ease of use and hardly any maintenance requirements made up for that. Out blind was still in pristine condition when we moved out. The next house had a separate glass shower cubicle - nightmare! Current new-ish home has a good quality, weighted shower curtain but will soon have a new shower blind. IMHO, you wouldn't regret getting one too....See MoreShower screen sizes + splash zone (for an 800mm width shower)
Comments (5)Will just one side of the shower be open (ie shower in a corner with 2 walls) or 2 sides open? Do you have an image of the bathroom plan? Also, I would always consider adding a hand held shower head along with a rainfall shower for easier cleaning....See MoreCeiling mounted shower curtain Rod
Comments (1)Hi all, Has anyone managed to hack a curtain rail for a ceiling mounted curtain Rod. I plan to use 25mm stainless steel ceiling support brackets but can’t seem to find pure stainless steel curtain rails of 25mm. My fixtures are brass but lacquered brass curtain rails are even harder to find so my plan is to compromise and ‘mix metals’A lot of the companies supply these stainless steel effect or metal fixtures which will rust over time. I can’t have a shower screen due to layout , a badly placed window and lack of appropriate support. I find all the standard shower curtain rails quite hideous. I was too glad to be rid of the circular one I had. Any help would be appreciated. I have searched for weeks and am coming to the end of my bathroom renovation....See Morelsnhmbl
