need help with colours for wall of kitchen diner

I have a large kitchen diner. There will be an oak floor. The ceilings will be white and I am looking for a light (white variant) colour for the walls. I don't want it to be too crisp or cold. Possibly a slight grey white? Please advice.

Fired earth bone whíte is a soft grey so won't be cold not knowing which way your room faces. What colour are your kitchen units or anything else in the room though?

Hi Cavdoorn,

Your kitchen-diner sounds lovely. I’ve got a couple of
recommendations for wall colour, the first being Dulux Dusted Moss 3. This is a
calming soft green/grey colour, which I can see working perfectly in a large
kitchen diner, especially with lovely oak flooring. These tones will all complement
each other beautifully.

My second suggestion is Dulux Rich Praline 5. Whilst being a
gorgeous warming tone, Rich Praline 5 is also contemporary and sleek. Perfect
again for an open plan living space such as yours.

I’d suggest buying tester pots of each colour first, as it’s
important to see the colour on the wall to make sure you’re 100% happy, before
making your final choice.

I think Cornforth White would work well. The other FB colours that would also work good in your kitchen to keep it feeling light and fresh are: Strong White, New White and White Tie. Good luck hope you are pleased with the finished result.

Hi. The kitchen looks a very different colour online! I'm assuming you don't want much contrast with the units based on the colour pics? You're going to need a warm grey but it may take some time to find the right one :( I would start with farrow and ball skimming stone (pic shows it in a north facing room), slipper satin and ammonite. I think you can afford to go darker on that dining wall, have you considered a textured wallpaper, faux grasscloth etc? Based on your first pic you like neutrals mixed with lots of texture so you could go for greige sofa (maybe a shade or 2 lighter than walls/kitchen) and then add your colour plus different shades of the greige from really light to fairly dark with different textures for cushions, throw and accessories. Alternatively you could go for a blush pink or duck egg sofa. Plants, herbs, flowers will lift the room. Perhaps add a really large mirror where the sofas are to make it feel wider and bounce light.

I can depend on the aspect of the room. Also, the tiles will have their own 'colour' so depending on what that is, the paint needs to work with it. If you go to an art shop like Hobbycraft and buy several large sheets of stiff card then paint the samples on very carefully at least two coats, this will be better than splodges on the wall.
