Advice please - bathroom flooring

Hi, I've fitted porcelanosa bathroom tiles; calacata Gold marble in the shower and a plain matching colour (in herringbone) style around the main walls in the bathroom that are likely to get wet (bath,sink walls )
I'm fitting a vinyl floor for ease but struggling with which type!
Original planned warm brown/grey wood look, however lots going on with tiles so now thinking very plain, light - any ideas what might work will be appreciated.

Comments (6)Don't mix your tiles colours....It will feel bigger if you stick to just one colour. To be fair the window is enormous for the room so you already have something to break up the tiles! If you want the room to look more polished like a hotel bathroom I would have dark grout and add brushed steel trims. Have the trims on all the window corners and then add trim at picture rail height and another at skirting board height. Make sure the grout lines match on the floor and walls. If you are having a floating toilet and vanity make sure your towel rail pipes come out of the wall not the floor. In my opinion underfloor heating is well worth the minor cost. A slatted blind may trick your eye into thinking the room is bigger although I might investigate if your local glass merchant can fit a mirror behind the vanity- this could be fitted with the same fittings that would hold a glass balcony secured top and bottom of the window recess and you could have a simple roller blind behind it....See MoreAdvice please - bathroom flooring

Comments (7)Gina, I'm not really sure why i put it there to be honest!! The suggestion to locate the shower as shown on Jonathan's plan obviously makes much more sense! Some of my design thought was based on me thinking the toilets would need to be on the same wall so as to use the same soil pipe, not sure if this is just my incorrect logic though!??? Jonathan, I understand what you are saying about incorporating the cupboard space into bedroom 3 but if you remember back the plan (see below) was to create a study/bedroom from the hallway, old wc and landing cupboard. It wouldn't be possible to do this if we divided bedroom 3 into two rooms as they'd be no access to the far bedroom. Your plan would leave me with no more bedrooms than i have now and with a smaller bed 3. We could of course incorporate the cupboard space into bed 3 rather than the bathroom, making it an even bigger room but I'm slightly reluctant to as this room is one that has been finished....See MoreAdvice for Bathroom layout needed, pretty please?

7 years agoHi Carolina, first of all those herringbone tiles are going to look stunning - great choice. We'd agree with Peter Newman on going for a lighter colour on the floor to contrast with the dark of your feature wall. Some ideas below:
