Hello - we only supplied the wood flooring for this project, the rest was supplied by Rixon Architecture & Design.

I have no say in what happens in the loft library... unless I want to take a book to read, he wouldn't even let me dust the place (not that I'd offer to dust it, anyway :)) I managed to insert a vase and a few prints on top of the bookcases in his office, but as he's buying 4-5 books a week, they're probably have to be moved to make space for these new books. Knowing the pattern from our last house, soon we'll have to have more shelves/ bookcases bought or built. Hmmm... who knew living with a bibliophile will prove rather difficult?

i would keep the shelving central on that sofa wall as I’m not sure you can achieve that look to be honest. Seems complicated. I have a shelf near my boiler but I’ve kept the shelf a couple of feet away so that I can open the boiler cupboard door. Here’s a pic of my lonely shelf and one with boiler cupboard door open. I must admit I do get attacked by the plant sometimes!

I always put tall things on the left anyway but I’d move the lamp the other side of the chair as it looks as if it has its back to the bookcase which feels a bit odd for a reading area. I’d also try the rug under one or two of the front feet. Perhaps also rearrange the books so you don’t have that big block of pinks adjacent to the art?
