HELP! Colour dilemma - what colour walls with a beech unit?
Comments (3)Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck.....See MoreNeed help with kitchen unit colour with tile
Comments (31)The darkest is worsted. We have ruled it out but the sample had already been ordered from the kitchen place so took it anyway. I think we need the cooler blue greys so I am going to do bigger cards of lamp room grey and pavilion grey. I am swaying towards lamp room grey. Just to add, those last two pictures are during a heavy rain shower and it was very dark outside, its probably as dark as we will see the colours. I will take again in brighter conditions....See MoreKitchen unit colour dilemma- please help.
Comments (8)The room looks very modern and spacious and having 2 colours in a kitchen is very popular. With regards to wall units (see image below where shelves have been used) & fridge/freezers, it really is down to personal preference but American fridge/freezers are very bulky, but they do give a lot of fridge space, although the freezers do tend to be a little small. Shelving can look nice and it could keep costs down. Decisions, decisions :-) Here are some pics of shaker kitchens that our customers have sent us with 2 different colours that they have used in their kitchens. If you want to see more pics then they can be seen here....See MoreHelp with open plan kitchen wall colour please as I’m struggling!
Comments (25)I would have poo poo’d this idea before as I’d wonder what the point was, but make your self a mood board using the colours roughly in the same ratios. Are you planning on having some artwork as this may be the lynchpin that helps it hang all together. Pulling colours through from that will help the scheme. Tonal can be soft and soothing but needs layering up with texture to create a cohesive scheme. Alternatively pops of bright colour can look amazing and your kitchen is lovely and bright with good bones. What is the rest of your house like, and what is your style?...See MoreAnita
