Normally I'd never suggest removing a fireplace to make way for a tv but in your case the fireplace doesn't really bring much to the space. I think this is party because its on a flat wall without chimney breast and also the scale of it looks rather lost. If you were to buy a lovely vintage sideboard and go to town with some artwork/plants/accessories then this will impart far more character than the current set up. Hi Alexander, This one is 130cm wide, so possibly a bit too big - but offers plenty of storage that can be hidden behind sliding doors or left open. It's available in solid oak or walnut, and has a lovely midcentury style. Classic Oak Sideboard Here's a couple of taller units that could work, both under 110cm wide. They are in solid wood (oak or walnut), and are great for storage. Mister Sideboard Contador Sideboard If you're able to fit a wider, lower sideboard, have a look at these media units. Hi, I wasn't really meaning take the console away and move the table so far as to close the gap, more take the table away and use the room to create space. You look like you have a lot of room up by the door on the wall facing. If you remove the ladder shelves, you could replace it with a dresser or sideboard. We have a painted Queen Anne sideboard, you can fit loads in it and it's only 50cm deep. A dresser to match your table would look great too. I personally prefer the mirrored on to add light, although you could have a sideboard with a mirror over it as separate items:-
