Pantone named 'Greenery' as their colour of the year, so in the spirit of making predictions (and to give our editorial team some feedback) we’re wondering what material you think we will see a lot of in 2017?

I'm so glad I don't follow trends. When the question is, 'what will we see trending in 2017', makes it all sound very manufactured and when it's manufactured then it's business that pushes the trends rather than something taking hold naturally from the people. We're being given a set of manufactured options so that businesses can continue to sell new products and then we all go and pick one. In fact, as soon as something is considered as trend you can be sure that my trend is to take the opposite approach and choose something traditional. God forbid that traditional becomes fashionable then I'm in trouble!

Great topic Kiara Temple. In terms of kitchen design, we're seeing a huge surge in both modern and shaker kitchens. People are looking for clean lines, that are sharp and simple. We're then going bold on the colours, to characterise the space. In terms of colour, we haven't seen too much demand for Pantone's Greenery or Dulux Denim Drift, but we've seen a lot of forest green, vibrant blues and also splash of clashing whites.

We think the porcelain wood trend is set to continue along with colourful patterned geometric and the use of textured porcelainon walls which will continue to be extremely popular and timeless.

me too...there's no grey, copper, or colour of the year 2017 'greenery' in my house. makes me want to yawn

Yes I'm not keen on "trends". It's rather like clothes that everyone is wearing, but look dated after one season. Decor and clothing are so much better if classic in style. Never goes out of fashion and you can keep them for years. Hate this obsession with grey decor - overdone and so boring.
